Hanuman Chalisa in English Lyrics – Siprtual Verses
The Hanuman Chalisa is a devotional hymn consisting of 40 verses (Chaupais) and two Dohas at the beginning and end. It is written in Awadhi, a dialect of Hindi, and composed in rhyming couplets. Each verse praises Lord Hanuman’s divine qualities, heroic deeds, and unwavering devotion to Lord Rama.
Each verse portrays Hanuman Baghwan’s character, including his bravery, modesty and heavenly benevolence. Reciting these spiritual verses is believed to grant blessings, shield against forces and instill inner strength in the worshipper. The Chalisa is often recited on Tuesdays and Saturdays, days considered sacred for Lord Hanuman, but its benefits are timeless and universal.
